Future job skills
According to the Future Jobs Report
In accordance with the Future Jobs Report 2025. By 2030, the big shift in key workplace skills, 39% in fact, will have changed since 2023, which is marginal, though slightly lower than the 44% expected in 2023.

This dip indicates that ongoing investment in continuous learning, upskilling and reskilling are enabling businesses to better prepare for the changing nature of jobs.
The Future of Jobs Report 2025 reveals that over the next five years, it is unlikely that any skills will grow faster than technological skills. First place on this list and not surprisingly goes to AI and Big data. Closely followed by networks, cybersecurity, and overall technological literacy. Naturally, the demand for automation and AI skills are incorporated within Technical skills.

But not only are technical skills on the rise. Curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning, as well as creative thinking, resilience, flexibility, and adaptability, are being increasingly valued.
Whilst technological skills are likely to grow faster than anything else over the next five years and AI / big data takes first place on the list. The top 10 skills needed were leadership and social influence, talent management, analytical thinking, and environmental stewardship — signalling a need for well-rounded ability sets at the future workplace.

Adaptability in the workplace
Soft Skills That Drive Success
Adaptability and resilience stand out as top priorities in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Everything DiSC® assessments help individuals understand their natural approach to change, allowing for more targeted adaptability training. In our training sessions, we consistently observe that employees who understand their behavioural style and can adjust it according to situations require less support time during organisational changes.

Emotional intelligence has emerged as a critical differentiator in workplace success. Through DiSC insights, professionals gain a deeper understanding of their emotional responses and communication preferences. Our assessments show that team leaders who combine high EQ with DiSC awareness achieve significantly better team performance scores.
Leadership and social influence
This isn’t just about being nice – it’s about understanding how to navigate complex workplace relationships, manage stress effectively, and create an environment where diverse behavioural styles can thrive.
Communication skills, especially in hybrid workplaces, have become non-negotiable. Understanding your DiSC profile helps you recognise your natural communication style and adapt it for different audiences.
Upskilling and reskilling
Understanding Yourself to Build Future Skills
When developing essential workplace skills, self-awareness serves as a crucial foundation. This is where tools like DiSC assessments prove invaluable in professional development. Understanding your behavioural style helps identify which future skills might come naturally and which might require more focused development.

For instance, those with a high ‘D’ (Dominance) profile often excel at quick decision-making and driving innovation – valuable traits in our fast-paced digital workplace. However, they might need to focus more on developing collaborative skills for the future’s increasingly team-based environments.
Individuals with high ‘i’ (Influence) profiles typically bring strong communication and networking abilities – essential skills for the hybrid workplace. Their development path might be to focus more on enhancing technical proficiencies and data analysis capabilities.

Those with strong ‘S’ (Steadiness) profiles often possess the patience and reliability needed for complex problem-solving and team collaboration. Their professional development might emphasise building change management and adaptability skills.
High ‘C’ (Conscientiousness) profiles frequently bring strong analytical abilities – crucial for the data-driven future workplace. Their skill development might focus on strengthening emotional intelligence and flexibility in communication styles.

1 - Knowing Yourself Inside Out
DiSC is brilliant for helping you understand yourself – how you tick, what you're good at, and maybe some aspects you could stretch your self on. When you know yourself well, you're better placed to adapt when things turn a bit 'pear-shaped'
2 - Talking So Everyone Listens

6 - Getting Emotionally Smart
This is a big one! As robots take over the boring stuff, being emotionally intelligent is more important than ever. DiSC workplace or DiSC Agile EQ can help you understand your own emotions and how they affect others, which is crucial for building strong relationships at work.
